I'm living in my university's town for the summer. I haven't lived at my parents' home in a year now but I still haven't told myself that I've moved out. Then I would have to be a grownup and stuff.
I'm currently pursuing a degree in biodiversity (a branch of biology related to ecology), with hopes to start a master's degree soon after. I'm working part time and also participating in a number of projects for various professors who have a need for expendable undergrads, as it were (they jest, but I still watch to make sure they're not experimenting on me).
I also now have a best beloved, as my mother calls him. He's pretty fantastic. Very intelligent, loves sailing, a great cook, the whole kit and caboodle. Don't pinch me, I don't want to wake up.
</insufferable>
As always I have a few pieces of art on the go. My goal right now is to get 2 done by the end of the summer. At the very least though I'll be keeping up with messages for the next while.
I'm currently juggling a couple of jobs and some volunteering work, keeping me quite busy. Not that I'm complaining, but I do wish I had more time for dA, I miss it.
I do have a couple of pieces on the go ... they may or may not be the same pieces I mentioned a year ago ... *cough* ... we'll see how that goes.
Cheers to BaB-Jane for the CSS, I quite like it. We'll see if it sticks around. I liked the other one a lot too, but it didn't fit the page quite right ... come to think of it, I don't know if this one does either ... we shall see.
So uh, who's around these days? It seems to me like most of the old community I knew has dropped off the map, which I consider rather unfortunate. To be expected though, as people grow up and move along.
Anyways, imma leave it there for now. Anyone wants to talk about science, drop me a line.
University is awesome. Crazy busy, but awesome. I'm currently volunteering in the herbarium, categorizing lichens.
Right now I'm at home, finishing off reading week (and absolutely no reading was done this week ...). Thought I'd do some updates and test out a new CSS. Regardless of whether I keep it, it's awesome. Go give Hairac a shout.
It's weird coming back to dA and finding that most of the people I used to converse with are no longer here. Shame, really. Need to find some new people.
One small complaint ... I hate not being able to browse art without multiple nudes/fetish portraits popping up all the time. Not that I have a problem with that kind of art, it just seems that it's taking over the front page. Was it always this popular?
My old boys are doing well, still don't seem to understand that they're retired geldings ...
More updates later! Cheers.

Well first year was quite the whirlwind ... absolutely adored it, can't wait to go back and see everyone again.
I'll keep this brief as I have to get up early tomorrow.
I'm home for the summer, working and such. Hopefully I'll be able to draw again soon (REALLY miss it) and post a couple of things. I'm also trying to work on some writing pieces and get back into that a little more.
I am still oboe-less, in extreme withdrawal on that front.
Merlin and Al are doing well, I seriously missed getting "good morning" nickers.
And I also seem to have come back to an empty community as far as dA is concerned ... hardly any of my old favs are around anymore. Shame, but at least most of us are too busy to notice.
Oh, and next week, I'M SEEING ODYSSEO (CAVALIA)!!!!!!!!!!! BECAUSE THEY'RE FINALLY COMING TO A CITY NEAR ME!!!!!!!!!
Front row center, VIP baby. Gosh I love my mother.
Spirit is a very happy camper.
Peace out.
PS: I may also spew science now from time-to-time ... I tended to avoid it here before but now I realize it's too much a part of me. I won't get technical don't worry, just occasionally post things of interest.

So I went off to university, and not to say that I don't have a social life now, but rather that it's changed dramatically. XD I am slowly working my way through the 8,000+ (!!!!!!!) deviations and 200+ journals in my inbox, it will happen, honest.
Some wonderful things going on now, most importantly that I'm in the middle of my first university final exams, and that I absolutely adore living in a place where I'm surrounded by academics. So much learning to do, so little time!
In any case I will update more over the Christmas break most likely. Hope everyone's doing well and the creativity is still there.
